When the vuvv first arrived, it was a big surprise for aspiring artist Adam and everyone else on Earth, but it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing at first. However, can you really call it a friendly visit when the vuvv offered advanced technology and cures for all illnesses, yet it led to trouble? As it turned out, yes. Since Adam’s parents lost their jobs to the alien tech and they couldn’t afford food, clean water, or the vuvv’s amazing medicine, Adam and his girlfriend Chloe had to think outside the box to make ends meet. The vuvv are fascinated by what they consider “classic” Earth culture, like doo-wop music, paintings of fruit, and real love. So, Adam and Chloe’s idea to record 1950s-style dates for the vuvv to watch and pay by the minute seemed like a great plan. Unfortunately, pretending to be in love is tough for Adam and Chloe, especially when they start to dislike each other more after each recording. Eventually, Adam has to make a tough choice about how much he’s willing to do—and what he’s ready to give up—to satisfy the vuvv’s desires.
