Description
In her small Colorado town, Pearl spends summers assisting at her family’s café and sharing the legend of Silverheels, a dancer who vanished after aiding miners during an 1861 smallpox outbreak. While Pearl believes the story, her suffragette neighbor, Josie, disputes Silverheels’ benevolence, labeling her a crook. Josie challenges Pearl to validate Silverheels’ angelic reputation or else assist with distributing suffragist pamphlets, which Pearl feels deter tourists and the attention of George Crawford, her romantic interest.
