Description

Tropic of Capricorn, published in 1939, is the semi-autobiographical sequel to Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. Set in the bohemian lower Manhattan of the late 1920s, it depicts Miller’s life as he struggles to become a writer, combining autobiographical elements with surrealistic observations about life, sex, and society. Like its predecessor, Tropic of Capricorn was banned in the United States and many other countries due to its frank depictions of sex and vulgarity.
